An apparatus that includes a body, an initiation device, an actuator, and a driver. The body has a cradle sized and configured to receive a linear surgical stapler operable to clamp and staple tissue with a plurality of staples. The actuator is in communication with the initiation device and the initiation device is coupled with the body.
