Built around cross-border cases
Information Disclosure Statement(IDS) software for reference review.
Organize cited originals and available English counterparts with IDS preparation software built for Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) review. DownloadPatent supports document preparation and review only; it does not complete or submit IDS forms.
Always kept
Then, find English context
An English counterpart is related, not necessarily identical. Keep the cited original for your IDS review.
The cited document stays the reference point.
Keep the original
Download the foreign publication cited in the OA. An English counterpart is an additional document, not a silent replacement.
Look for English counterparts
Find available English-language publications in the patent family. Review the relationship and content before deciding whether a candidate is useful.
View Google translations
When a Google machine translation is available, open its Google Patents page using the external link. It cannot be selected or downloaded from DownloadPatent.
Know which document you are reading.
Original PDFs and English counterparts are separately labeled downloads. Google machine translations open on an external page and are not included in the ZIP.
Stay in your own workflow.
Download the files, review them, then use your existing tools to prepare forms and submit. There is no case-management migration or automated filing.
Start with the references cited in the Office Action.
Use the Office Action body and reference list to identify cited publications, then compare each match with the original notice. Keep the publication number, kind code and citation context together. The purpose is to collect documents for human review, not decide which items belong in a filing. Record the cited passage and the document shown on the notice; a similar family publication does not replace review of the exact reference. Confirm bibliographic details before moving a PDF into a case folder.
The IDS document preparation guide describes the steps from extracted citations to an attachment set.
Keep the cited original beside any English counterpart.
The cited original remains the reference point. When an English counterpart (an English-language publication in the same patent family) is available, DownloadPatent can provide it as a separate labeled file. Family membership does not prove that claims, disclosure or prosecution history are identical, so review the relationship and contents before deciding whether to use it. Check whether the cited original and the English counterpart have different publication dates. Keep those details visible when comparing the documents.
This is not a translation service. A Google machine-translation page may be opened externally when available, but it is not selected or included in the ZIP.
Collect non-patent literature through its own source.
NPL may include journal articles, books, standards and other works. The citation list identifies them for follow-up, but DownloadPatent does not retrieve the article or book. Use a library, publisher or other authorized source, then keep NPL material distinct from the patent publications.
Review and assemble attachments in your own IDS process.
After checking originals, English counterparts and NPL references, organize documents for the particular application. DownloadPatent does not fill an Information Disclosure Statement, choose legally required citations or submit attachments. The filing decision and submission remain with your team and counsel.
