What does a month cost?

Count the office actions and other-language versions you expect in a month. Patent PDFs within your free amount are not counted. Patents already included in an office action are not charged again.

What does an office action include?
Parsing one Office Action, available cited patent PDFs, the citation list and a failure notice for unavailable cited documents. Cited patents are not charged again. NPL documents themselves are not downloaded. A citation list is US$0.15 and a full-text office action is US$0.25, paid from credits. Monthly includes 100 office actions in each subscription period, then the same per-use prices.
Does DownloadPatent use AI, and can its output be wrong?
Yes. Citations are extracted with text recognition (OCR) and, in some modes, AI language models. The output can be incomplete or wrong, so check it against the original Office Action and official records before you rely on it. DownloadPatent is an independent service and is not affiliated with any patent office.
How do credits work?
Credits are the balance that pays for office actions and other-language versions. After you verify your email, US$3 in credits is added; it expires 30 days later and cannot be refunded. You can add more in packs of US$10, US$25 or US$50, with payment fees included. Each charge uses the credits that expire first. The knowledge base explains how credits work and when they expire.
Is there a limit on free patent downloads?
A signed-in account downloads up to 200 patent PDFs a day for free, or 200 on Monthly; the daily count resets at 00:00 UTC. After that each patent is US$0.005, paid from credits.
How are other-language versions charged?
US$0.03 per patent, only when a counterpart is found and actually delivered. Searches that find nothing, failed deliveries, and repeat downloads of the same item are not charged. Monthly includes them. Availability varies by document.
What happens when my credits run out?
Patent PDF downloads stay free up to 200 a day (200 on Monthly). Past that, and for office actions and other-language versions, you need credits: add a pack of US$10, US$25 or US$50, or choose Monthly for 100 office actions every month.
Can credits be refunded?
Free credits, including sign-up and promotional credits, are not refunded and cannot be exchanged for cash. Credits you buy are covered by the refund policy; see the refund policy page for the conditions, which do not limit your statutory rights.
