Abstract
Systems and methods for powering and controlling implantable heart pumps are provided. An example system may include an external controller housing for housing a processor programmable to control an implantable heart pump, a battery housing removably attachable to the external controller housing for housing battery cells to supply power to the implantable heart pump, a button connected to the battery housing, and a latch extending from the button to a latch protrusion.
