Abstract
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide various mechanisms that support opportunistically de-coupling groups of processing cores from a shared supply voltage rail in a heterogeneous CPU cluster. The mechanisms proposed herein may allow high performance cores memory supply voltage to be switched over to a different (non-shared) voltage supply rail. This switching may allow high performance core(s) to independently transition to higher performance states (P-states) without pulling up the shared voltage supply rail.
