What happens to your documents
You must be signed in before an Office Action is analyzed. Office Action uploads are limited to PDF files up to 25 MB. The record of your request keeps processing details and a reference to the stored file, not the file itself. Your uploaded files and available results can be accessed for up to 24 hours within the same request, so you can change versions and download again. Downloading does not end this access window. After it expires, access is turned off and a scheduled cleanup removes the temporary files. Files from failed requests are also removed.
Access ends before the files are deleted
The 24-hour window is the longest a file stays accessible. Deletion happens in a later scheduled cleanup, so access ending and the files being removed are two separate steps. For the services we use, where data is processed and how account records are kept, see the privacy policy and the information security page.
How to ask for help safely
Do not put client names, case numbers, unpublished invention details or document contents into a support message. Share the account email, feature, approximate time, non-sensitive status text and steps that reproduce the issue. For a security concern, describe the behavior and impact without attaching confidential documents unless the agreed support channel specifically requests them.
