Taiwan patent gazettes are available through the Intellectual Property Office public services. The right route depends on whether you need a single publication, a recent issue, or a data package. A gazette index and a complete specification are related but not interchangeable.

Use the TIPO gazette for a published document

Open the TIPO online patent gazette. The page separates invention, utility-model, design, and other PDF downloads, and lists recent and historical issues. Search or browse to the issue containing the publication, then compare the document number, title, issue date, and document type before downloading.

For a single case, use the individual patent entry or PDF control where provided. For a complete issue, use the issue-level ZIP or the category PDF only when that is what your archive requires. Record the volume, issue, publication date, and local filename so another reviewer can reproduce the lookup.

Do not mix TIPO services

TIPO also offers a patent and trademark open-data download site with gazette/specification datasets and an API service. That is a data-distribution service, not the same thing as opening one public gazette in the online viewer. The TIPO FAQ directs users to e 網通 for patent and invention-publication gazette searches.

When a citation is from the United States, Europe, Japan, China, or Korea, use its issuing office rather than searching the TIPO gazette by a foreign number. TIPO also describes a five-office publication download service that accepts an office, publication date range, or public number. Check the returned document identity before treating it as the source file.

Verify the PDF before archiving

Open the first page and check the TIPO office or country marker, publication number, title, kind, date, and page count. Keep the original PDF separate from a bibliographic export, OCR text, or translated file. If the record has a book entry but no PDF, note the issue and use the official alternative route rather than guessing a URL.

For several known references across offices, use patent downloads and review each result. Check coverage before selecting a country or document version.

Frequently asked questions

Is a TIPO issue ZIP the same as one patent PDF?

No. An issue ZIP can contain many gazette files or a category package. A single-document PDF is the better choice when a citation identifies one publication.

Does the gazette page contain every historical file?

The public page exposes current and historical ranges and can change its interface. Check the displayed date range and use TIPO open-data or the official support route for older or bulk data needs.

Can I use a TIPO number to find a US or EP document?

Not as a general rule. Use the number and issuing office shown in the citation. Cross-office services may offer a matching record, but verify the returned office, document number, and kind code.

Does DownloadPatent replace the TIPO official record?

No. It helps collect known supported patent PDFs. The TIPO gazette remains the source to verify a Taiwan publication and its issue details.

DownloadPatent artifact policy

Google machine translations are external links only: open them on Google Patents; they cannot be selected or included in a download. DownloadPatent does not generate or download rebuilt text PDFs or DOCX files. An English family publication is a separate document from the cited original.
